So things are starting to move again. I hadn't been to the house for awhile. We needed to get pictures of the inside, so I went on Monday morning (Sept. 15). I was surprised to find that the drywall was done on the main floor AND it was already painted! The house does look bigger and I started to get really restless...I would LOVE to move in sooner than December 1. However, the floor of the basement is still not poured, but if the weather holds it will be poured on Monday!
This was something that was new to me. For some reason I always thought that the walls AND the floor of the basement were poured at the very beginning of the construction. But it turns out that the walls get poured and the house goes up BEFORE the basement floor is poured. Which makes sense when you think about it. The plumbing has to go into the floor and this is difficult to do before the house is built or after the basement floor is poured! Anyways, I will be so excited when the basement floor goes in. Right now the basement is simply dirt, soil and clay with pipes and rocks everywhere!
Here are a few pictures of the inside with the drywall and paint:

There is more happening outside the house as well. The concrete layer is now being applied before the stucco goes on. A view from the front:
