This was something that was new to me. For some reason I always thought that the walls AND the floor of the basement were poured at the very beginning of the construction. But it turns out that the walls get poured and the house goes up BEFORE the basement floor is poured. Which makes sense when you think about it. The plumbing has to go into the floor and this is difficult to do before the house is built or after the basement floor is poured! Anyways, I will be so excited when the basement floor goes in. Right now the basement is simply dirt, soil and clay with pipes and rocks everywhere!
